Unidentified armed men set two NATO oil tankers on fire in Bolan area of Pakistan's Balochistan province today though there were no casualties, police said.
The attackers, who were riding motorcycles, fired at the two tankers carrying fuel for NATO forces in Afghanistan and then set them on fire, officials said. The attackers managed to flee.
Police cordoned off the area and launched a search for the attackers.
A majority of fuel and supplies for US and NATO forces in Afghanistan is transported via routes in southwest and northwest Pakistan.
The Taliban and other militant groups have destroyed hundreds of vehicles and killed dozens of people in attacks on NATO supply trucks and tankers.
