INS RanVijay will arrive today for a port call at the Sepanggar Bay Naval Base.
In conjunction with the arrival of the vessel, INS Ranvijay, and the crew, the High Commission of India and Sabah Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industries (SICCI) are jointly a series of events here involving senior government officials and the public.
Among the events is a performance for the public by the Indian Navy Band at Padang Merdeka here tomorrow, 12 May at 6.30pm.
Mayor Datuk Abidin Madingkir and other local dignitaries are expected to join the public in watching the two-hour spectacle.
At 2.30pm today, India Deputy High Commissioner Shri B.N Reddy and the vessel’s Commanding Officer Captain Dilbag Singh will pay a courtesy call on Sabah Police Commissioner Dato’ Haji Hamza B. Taib.
This will be followed by a courtesy at 3.30pm on the Mayor.
On May 13 starting at 7.30pm, Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman is expected to officiate at a cocktail and dinner reception on board the INS Ranvijay.
The reception hosts are the Flag Officer Commanding–in-Chief Eastern Naval Command Vice Admiral Anup Singh and the High Commission of India.
